Full-Body Thermal Pattern Imaging for Inflammation-Awareness Support

Functional Wellness Imaging

What Is Thermography?

Thermography is a non-contact imaging method that uses an infrared camera to display temperature patterns on or near the surface of the body. It does not involve ionizing radiation, compression, injections, or physical contact.

The resulting images provide supplemental information about skin-surface temperature differences. These patterns can be influenced by many factors and do not reveal their underlying cause.

As a Functional Nutrition Counselor, I use thermography as one part of a broader wellness conversation involving your health history, concerns, goals, lifestyle, and appropriate referrals.

Important: Thermography is an adjunctive tool. It does not diagnose disease and must not replace medical evaluation, mammography, or any recommended screening, laboratory test, or diagnostic imaging.

Why It Matters

Thermography creates a visual record of skin-surface temperature patterns that may be compared over time when imaging conditions are consistent.

Thermal imaging may document:

  • Skin-surface temperature differences

  • Areas of relative warmth, coolness, or asymmetry

  • Patterns involving regions of physical concern

  • Changes observed between properly performed studies

A thermal pattern does not identify its cause or confirm a medical condition. Its purpose is to add context, support informed questions, and help determine whether licensed medical follow-up may be appropriate.

Full-Body Thermographic Imaging

Full-body imaging provides a head-to-toe view of skin-surface temperature patterns. Because an image cannot explain why a temperature difference is present, findings should be considered alongside symptoms, health history, environmental and lifestyle factors, and any evaluation recommended by a licensed healthcare professional.

What to Expect

Your appointment begins with a review of your health history, goals, and areas of concern. During imaging:

  • You will have access to a private changing and imaging area.

  • Clothing covering the areas being imaged must be removed temporarily.

  • Your privacy and dignity will be protected throughout the process.

  • Images are captured without physical contact.

  • The procedure typically requires no recovery time.

Preparation instructions will be provided before your appointment because activity, temperature, clothing, topical products, and other factors may affect skin-surface readings.

Technology, Comfort, and Privacy

Infrared equipment records heat patterns emitted from the skin’s surface. Your comfort, dignity, and confidentiality remain priorities throughout your appointment. Images and personal information are handled according to applicable privacy practices.

Understanding Your Report

Your report may contain thermal images, descriptive observations, comparisons with previous studies when available, and recommendations for appropriate follow-up.

Thermographic findings should be interpreted by an appropriately trained professional and must not be used independently to diagnose or rule out a medical condition. Any new, persistent, or concerning symptom should be discussed with a licensed healthcare provider.

Within my coaching scope, I can help you consider the report as part of a broader conversation about nutrition, movement, hydration, sleep, stress, and daily habits.

Wellness Support

Clients may receive general wellness education related to hydration, gentle movement, breathing practices, sleep, stress management, and dry brushing. These practices are not treatments for disease and are not substitutes for individualized medical care. A complimentary dry brush is included.

Areas That May Be Imaged

Depending on the selected study, imaging may include anatomical regions such as the breasts, neck, abdomen, face, back, muscles, joints, arms, or legs.

Thermography records skin-surface temperature patterns in these regions. It does not examine internal organs, determine the cause of a pattern, confirm a diagnosis, or replace condition-specific medical testing.

A Whole-Person Wellness Perspective

Thermography can provide one piece of information within a larger wellness picture. Its value comes from responsible interpretation, consistent comparison, appropriate medical follow-up, and consideration of your health history—not from using it as a standalone screening or diagnostic test.

Our goal is to help you ask informed questions, understand your options, and take responsible next steps. When appropriate and with your permission, we encourage collaboration with the licensed members of your healthcare team.
