A Story of Faith, Learning, and Purpose
How my health journey, education, and relationship with God helped Elevated Wellness Me become a calling—and inspired a new vision for patient involvement.

Elevated Wellness Me did not begin as a business plan. It grew from years of searching, learning, praying, and trying to understand what my own body was telling me.
My journey included pain, unanswered questions, and appointments that did not always provide the clarity I needed. After consulting 12 doctors and spending years searching for answers, a hysterectomy became medically necessary in December 2023.
That experience taught me something important: people need appropriate medical care, but they may also need support as they prepare questions, process information, identify what matters most to them, and carry professional guidance into their everyday lives.
This is the space where health coaching can help.
WHEN LEARNING BECAME PART OF MY HEALING
Throughout the years, I educated myself through professional courses, books, mentorship, personal study, and reflection. I learned how I absorb information best—and how powerful education can become when it is presented with compassion, structure, and respect for the learner.
Books and teachers gave me direction, hope, and a desire to understand more about nutrition, behavior, the brain, and the human body. They did not replace the appropriate medical care I needed at the time. Instead, they helped me develop better questions and become a more engaged participant in my health.
No single book holds every answer. Yet thoughtful educators and writers can give us language, perspective, and a place to begin.
Over time, my love of learning became part of my purpose.
THE FAITH BENEATH THE WORK
As I continued learning, my faith became my foundation.
During prayer, one simple answer stayed on my heart:
“Eat what I made, not what I didn’t. If on the shelf, leave it. If I made it, eat it.”
I understand those words through my personal relationship with God and my own life and health experiences. They are part of my testimony—not a medical prescription or a universal rule for everyone.
For me, the message brought my attention back to simplicity, nourishment, stewardship, and gratitude. It reminded me that faith and responsible healthcare do not have to compete. Prayer helped give me hope and direction while qualified healthcare professionals addressed the medical decisions that belonged within their scope.
God did not remove every difficult part of my journey, but He gave me the strength to keep learning through it.
HOW ELEVATED WELLNESS ME TOOK SHAPE
Elevated Wellness Me grew from the belief that people deserve to be heard, respected, and supported as whole human beings.
My work is not about telling clients what to do. It is about creating a thoughtful space where they can slow down, reflect, organize their concerns, and decide what questions they want to bring to their licensed healthcare professionals.
Elevated Wellness Me offers whole-person health coaching that helps clients organize questions, build sustainable routines, and implement guidance from their licensed healthcare team. Coaching complements appropriate medical and nutrition care; it does not diagnose or treat disease, nor does it replace a physician, registered dietitian, mental-health professional, or other appropriately qualified clinician.
The healthcare team determines clinical care. My role as a coach is to support reflection, communication, habit development, accountability, resource navigation, and practical follow-through.
CREATING A COURSE FOR PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO LEARN
My educational journey also inspired the Elevated Wellness Me Health Coach Certification Course.
I wanted to create the kind of learning experience that would have helped me: structured, approachable, reflective, and connected to real human experiences. The course is intended to help future coaches strengthen their communication, professional reasoning, coaching presence, habit-support skills, and understanding of appropriate scope.
It is not a shortcut to becoming a licensed healthcare professional, and it does not authorize students to diagnose, treat, prescribe, or work outside the laws and requirements governing their location.
It is an invitation to become a more thoughtful learner and a more responsible coach.

MY INTENTION FOR HEALTHY PEOPLE 2030
My experiences also led me to Healthy People 2030 objective HC/HIT-03: increasing the proportion of adults whose healthcare providers involve them in decisions as much as they want.
This objective matters deeply to me because I understand how overwhelming healthcare appointments can feel. A person may arrive with several concerns, forget important questions, feel rushed, or leave without fully understanding what comes next.
According to the official Healthy People 2030 objective page, 51.3% of adults reported in 2024 that their healthcare providers always involved them in decisions as much as they wanted. The national target is 62.7%. The site also explains that shared decision-making can contribute to greater patient satisfaction and better health outcomes.
Elevated Wellness Me is developing an independent patient-involvement coaching pilot aligned with the spirit of this objective.
The proposed coaching support would help participants clarify what matters most before an appointment, organize concerns and questions, practice communicating preferences respectfully, record approved next steps, and turn professional guidance into realistic daily actions.
The coach would not interpret test results, recommend treatment, influence a participant toward or away from medical care, or make decisions on the participant’s behalf.
The purpose is not to stand between patients and healthcare professionals. It is to help people arrive better prepared to participate in the conversation.

MOVING FORWARD WITH PURPOSE
My past is part of this work, but it is not the entire story.
Elevated Wellness Me represents what happened when hardship met education, faith, compassion, and purpose. It is my way of helping other people feel less overwhelmed while still respecting the essential roles of licensed healthcare professionals.
I cannot give someone every answer. A coach should never pretend to hold them all.
What I can offer is a calm place to think, prepare, learn, and take the next appropriate step.
Perhaps that is where meaningful involvement begins: not with one person controlling the conversation, but with people learning how to enter it with greater clarity, confidence, and hope.
